Beginner Wheel Throwing Class

Join us for a one time, 2 hour class to learn or practice the basics of wheel throwing. This is a great introduction for those interested in learning how to use the pottery wheel. No experience is needed. If you already have experience, come refresh your memory and get back into the swing of it!

Each participant will throw two pieces. In this beginner class, we will already have your clay centered and ready to throw on the wheel. You will receive instructions on how to throw a cylinder, which can be shaped into a basic cup or bowl.

Price is $65 and includes step-by-step instruction and use of equipment and tools, clay, glaze, and firings of up to two pieces. All lessons are by appointment only.

If you enjoyed your class, please remember to tip your instructor on the day of your class. It is not required but is very much appreciated by them.

Additional Information:

• Limited to Ages 8 and up as hand strength is needed to work on the wheel. Kids under 10 years old must be accompanied by a registered adult also taking the class.
• Class size is limited due to space, we do not allow sit ins for classes. You must be registered to stay for the class, or you are welcome to paint in the main studio.
• Clay is messy! While it will wash out of clothing, we recommend wearing clothes you’re comfortable getting dirty.
• Please bring an apron or hand towel.
• Long hair should be tied back.
• Trim your nails before class. (Long nails make it hard to work with clay on the wheel)
• Jewelry (rings, watches, bracelets) should be removed before class to prevent unwanted indentions and scrapes in your clay.

Seats and schedules are limited therefore cancellations made within 48 hours of the event will be forfeited.
